Spring has sprung! At least I hope so anyway… here’s hoping that little bit of snow from this past weekend will be the last we see for quite some time. 

As you are preparing to spend more time outside, this is also a great time to start thinking about your exterior home maintenance both for your own enjoyment, and also if you are thinking of selling your home.

Here are my top recommendations to focus on this spring:

  - Fresh Mulch. There is nothing quite like a fresh covering of mulch to freshen your flower beds and landscape. While you’re at it, you can support a great cause by buying your mulch through Lovettsville’s Boy Scout Pack 962. Contact them at mulch@troop962.org.

  - Power Washing. This is a great time to have the exterior of your home power washed, especially any areas that may tend to grow moss or collect dirt. This is an easy do it yourself job. Don’t have a power washer? Borrow one from a neighbor; I’ve often seen folks exchanging equipment and services on one of the many Lovettsville Facebook groups.

  - Professional Window Cleaning. You don’t really realize how dirty your windows are until they are professionally done. The service will include cleaning the inside and outside, washing screens and cleaning window sills/wells. Very worth the investment once or twice per year. Other areas to consider… driveway sealing/having fresh gravel applied, landscaping updates/fresh plantings, fence and deck painting/sealing.
