Lovettsville Real Estate News
By: Karen Wenner Cooper
The weather is changing, leaves are changing colors, we are solidly in the fall real estate market and Halloween is right around the corner. It is truly one of my favorite times of year!
Did you know that the real estate world actually has an official term for haunted houses? These properties are called “stigmatized” properties. This term can also be used to describe possible detrimental features of a property as the result of unfortunate occurrences, including anytime a death has occurred in a home. Depending on the State you live in, this may or may not have to be disclosed to a potential purchaser!
If you have lived here for a while, you probably know that Loudoun County has a rich history of “hauntings”. There is a terrific walking tour of historic downtown Leesburg sponsored by the Loudoun Museum. This year’s tours will take place this weekend on October 28th and 29th. For more information, contact the Loudoun Museum at 703-777-7427 or visit www.LeesburgHauntings.org.
Would you like to learn even more about Loudoun County’s “stigmatized” properties? Email me at Karen@GoPlatinumGroup.com to be entered to win a copy of Frank Raflo’s “Hauntings and Happenings of Loudoun” book. Drawing will be held on October 31st.
