Have you hear of the “little free pantry” before? The Little Free Pantry began as a pilot project in Spring 2016, inspired by the successful “Little Free Library” projects.

Since then, these little pantries have been popping up all over the Country! One of our favorites is the one located in Lovettsville, VA. Attached to the side of the Lovettsville Historical Society & Museum located at 4 East Pennsylvania Avenue.

The idea behind the Little Free Pantry is to provide support to those in the community experiencing food insecurity in a easy to access way. Those in need can simply visit the unlocked pantry whenever to retrieve items they need, and likewise community members who are able to contribute may drop off their own non-perishable items at anytime. The Lovettsville Little Free Pantry also includes toiletries and diapers.
